Wisdom Workshop · Participation Agreement

Terms of Participation

The container that makes the practice possible
Effective Date: May 1, 2026 · Last Revised: April 26, 2026

Wisdom Workshop courses and sessions are designed for liminal emergence, and strong boundaries make our collective work possible. Your decision to participate in any Wisdom Workshop course means that you've read and agree to these agreements.

1.Definitions

For the purposes of this agreement, the following terms have the meanings given here.

2.Membership, Payment & Renewal

The Wisdom Workshop is offered through several access tiers, including (at the time of this writing) a one-time enrollment, a standard monthly membership, and a sustaining monthly membership. Current pricing and links to checkout are maintained at o-perma.com and wisdomworkshop.io. Payment is processed by Stripe, Inc.; by enrolling, you agree to Stripe's terms in addition to these.

Recurring subscriptions renew automatically at the cadence selected at enrollment until cancelled. You may cancel at any time by emailing woodstackrecords@gmail.com; cancellation takes effect at the end of the then-current billing period. We do not pro-rate partial periods.

Refunds

Because much of the Workshop's value is delivered relationally and in real time, we do not offer refunds for sessions already attended or for billing periods in progress. If a session is cancelled by the Facilitator and not rescheduled, a credit toward a future session will be issued. If you have experienced a billing error or believe a refund is warranted in equity, write to us — we will respond in good faith.

Scholarships and Pause

The Workshop maintains discretion to offer scholarships, sliding-scale rates, and temporary pauses on membership in cases of financial hardship. Such accommodations are at the Facilitator's sole discretion and do not establish precedent.

3.Code of Conduct

The five Agreements set forth in the orientation are the operative code of conduct of the Wisdom Workshop and are incorporated into these Terms by reference. By participating, you commit to practice within them in good faith. Material breach — including, without limitation, soliciting or marketing within sessions, redistribution of Session Material without consent, harassment or harm directed at another Participant or Facilitator, or repeated bad-faith disregard for the Agreements — may result in suspension or removal from the community at the Facilitator's discretion. Removal does not relieve the Participant of ongoing confidentiality obligations.

The Wisdom Workshop is not a venue for political organizing, religious proselytizing, multi-level marketing, or therapeutic crisis intervention. We celebrate political, religious, and personal diversity; we ask that the Sessions remain a space oriented toward shared contemplative practice rather than recruitment to any external program.

4.Recordings, Transcripts & the Private/Shareable Framework

Most Sessions are recorded for the benefit of Participants. By attending a Session, you consent to being audio- and video-recorded, transcribed, and summarized. If you do not wish to be recorded in a particular Session, notify the Facilitator before the Session begins; reasonable accommodation will be made (camera off, attribution removed, etc.), provided that the Facilitator may decline to record at all if accommodation is not workable.

The Private/Shareable Distinction

Private (default). All Session Material is treated as Private by default — accessible to current Participants and Facilitators of that program, and not for distribution outside the community.

Shareable. Material may be moved to Shareable status — meaning it may be publicly shared on Substack, YouTube, social media, or other channels — only when the speaker(s) of the relevant material have given explicit, recorded consent. Consent is granular: a Participant may release a single quote without releasing the full session.

You may withdraw consent at any time as to your own contributions by writing to woodstackrecords@gmail.com. Upon receipt, we will remove the affected material from public-facing surfaces under our control within a reasonable time and cease further public use; we cannot guarantee removal from third-party platforms beyond our control or from copies already retained by other Participants under the Private framework.

Use by Participants

You may use Session Material for your own personal learning, journaling, and reflection. You may not redistribute Session Material — in whole or in substantial part — outside the community without the express consent of the speakers involved and the Facilitator. Quoting a fellow Participant publicly requires that Participant's permission.

5.Intellectual Property

Workshop-Owned Material

The frameworks, curriculum, written materials, recordings, methodology documents, glossary entries, software (including MetaCordial), branding, and other content created by Sean Waters or the Wisdom Workshop ("Workshop Material") are owned by Sean Waters or the Wisdom Workshop and are licensed to you for personal, non-commercial learning use only. You may not copy, redistribute, sell, sublicense, or use Workshop Material to train any machine-learning model without prior written permission.

Your Contributions

You retain ownership of the original ideas, writing, and creative work you bring into and produce within Sessions ("Participant Contributions"). By participating, you grant the Wisdom Workshop a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to record, transcribe, summarize, store, and use your Participant Contributions for the operation of the Workshop, internal community sharing under the Private framework, and (only with your additional explicit consent) public sharing under the Shareable framework.

Nothing in this section transfers ownership of your Contributions to the Workshop. You remain free to publish, perform, or use your own Contributions however you wish.

Quoting and Attribution

If you draw on language, frameworks, or formulations encountered through the Workshop in your own public work, please attribute the source — both as a matter of intellectual honesty and because the relational chain of attribution is itself part of the practice we share.

6.Confidentiality

What is shared in Sessions is shared in confidence. You agree not to disclose, in any identifiable form, the personal disclosures, struggles, names, or stories of fellow Participants outside the community without their explicit permission. This obligation continues after your participation ends.

Confidentiality is not absolute. Facilitators may disclose information when (a) required by law, (b) reasonably necessary to prevent imminent harm to a Participant or third party, or (c) to consult with co-facilitators, supervisors, or legal counsel under their own confidentiality obligations.

7.Data Privacy & MetaCordial

The Wisdom Workshop collects only the information needed to operate the community: name, email, payment information (processed by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers), Session attendance, Session Material, and any voluntary profile information you provide through MetaCordial or other Workshop platforms.

Data is stored on third-party services we have selected for fitness to purpose, including (without limitation) Stripe, our calendaring provider, our video platform, our transcription service, and the MetaCordial platform itself. Each of these providers maintains its own privacy and security practices.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your data with third parties for advertising. We use anonymized or aggregated data internally for community design, curriculum improvement, and reporting on community size and reach.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing woodstackrecords@gmail.com. We will respond within a reasonable time. Deletion of personal data does not require deletion of anonymized aggregate data or of Session Material in which other Participants also appear; we will balance your request against the rights of others in the recording.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, you have additional rights under applicable law (including GDPR and CCPA); we will honor those rights upon written request.

8.Disclaimers

The Wisdom Workshop is an educational and contemplative community. It is not psychotherapy, medical care, legal advice, or financial advice. The Facilitators are not, in this capacity, acting as your therapist, physician, attorney, or financial advisor, and nothing in any Session should be construed as professional advice in those domains.

If you are experiencing a mental-health crisis, suicidal ideation, or symptoms requiring clinical care, please contact a licensed clinician or, in an emergency, dial your local emergency number or visit a hospital. The Workshop is a complement to — not a substitute for — qualified professional care.

The Workshop is provided "as is." We make no warranty that any specific outcome — emotional, creative, professional, relational, or otherwise — will result from your participation.

9.Assumption of Risk & Release

Contemplative practice can surface strong emotions, memories, and bodily sensations. By participating, you acknowledge that you are entering this work as an adult of sound mind, that you accept these ordinary risks, and that you are responsible for monitoring your own well-being and seeking outside support when appropriate.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you release Sean Waters, the Wisdom Workshop, its Facilitators, and its Founding Members from any claim arising out of the inherent emotional, psychological, or interpersonal effects of contemplative practice undertaken voluntarily within the Workshop, except in cases of gross negligence or intentional misconduct.

10.Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the total cumulative liability of Sean Waters, the Wisdom Workshop, and its Facilitators to any Participant for any and all claims arising out of or related to participation in the Workshop shall not exceed the total amount the Participant paid to the Workshop in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. In no event shall the Workshop be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

11.Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sean Waters, the Wisdom Workshop, its Facilitators, and its Founding Members from any claim, loss, damage, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of (a) your breach of these Terms or the Agreements, (b) your unauthorized use or redistribution of Session Material, (c) your infringement of the intellectual-property or privacy rights of any other Participant, or (d) your violation of any applicable law in connection with your participation.

12.Dispute Resolution

If a dispute arises, we ask you first to write to woodstackrecords@gmail.com with a clear description of the issue. We commit to responding within a reasonable time and engaging in good-faith conversation aimed at resolution. This is consistent with the third-generation coaching ethos at the heart of the Workshop.

If informal resolution fails, the parties agree to attempt mediation with a mutually agreed-upon mediator before initiating formal legal proceedings. Mediation costs will be split equally unless the mediator orders otherwise.

If mediation fails, any remaining dispute shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by a nationally recognized arbitration body in Larimer County, Colorado, except that either party retains the right to seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction for breaches of confidentiality or intellectual-property provisions.

13.Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States of America, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. The parties consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Larimer County, Colorado, for any matter that may not be subject to arbitration.

14.Changes to These Terms

The Wisdom Workshop may revise these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted at wisdomworkshop.io with a revised "Last Revised" date. Material changes will be communicated to Participants by email with reasonable advance notice. Continued participation after the effective date of any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms; if you do not accept the changes, you may withdraw under Section 2.

15.Severability & Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect, and the unenforceable provision shall be reformed only to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable. These Terms, together with the orientation Agreements incorporated by reference, constitute the entire agreement between you and the Wisdom Workshop regarding your participation, and supersede any prior representations or agreements on the subject.
